Oh, Grandma, it's been so long....

Coming back to the keyboard to write things down after such a long haitus feels a lot like going back to school, or perhaps confession. It would be nearly impossible to sumarize everything that has happened over the X number of months and it would be fairly trite to even try. This is one of those "where to begin" moments that I think are best solved through avoidance and merely pushing past the speed bumps and pretending I never stood up from the computer.
My mind wanders alot, but not nearly as much as it should. Planning a wedding/honeymoon, working full-time and still wanting to consider myself something of a writer irkes at my being. Nonetheless, there's a few things I want to do before it's too late. By years end: get thee married, visit a country I become increasingly engaged by the more I read about it, and, finally, do something productive in terms of my work. The latter is the only one I've trully neglected and it's probably the most disconcerting. I told a friend with whom I share some interests and experiences that returning to a semi-retired work is about the worst feeling in the world. 99% of the time you realize A) that everything you wrote sounds like toddler drivel B) you wasted a good 12+ hours writing 4 pages of said drivel C) the one good idea that was going to be the 'one' turned out as an A) or B). Honestly, who wants to read about some dipshit and his wife, their sterile marriage, lousy attempts to reconciliation and his ultimate self-evaluation and awakening. All sounds very Johnathan Franzen there but is likely much more closer to this. God help me. Then again, the both sell well.
